ILA | Arizona: House committees hear pro-gun bills

On Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee and the Judiciary Committee hear pro-gun bills. Please use the Request to speak (RTS) on the Arizona State Legislature website asking them to SUPPORT House Bills 2166, 2472 and 2473. RTS is the most effective and efficient way to contact committee members regarding Second Amendment legislation. It is imperative that you create an account and continue to use this tool throughout the 2022 legislative session.

House Bill 2166 exempts firearms and firearm safety equipment, such as gun safes and locks, from state transaction privilege and use taxes. This recognizes that the government should not impose additional financial barriers on citizens who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights and wish to store their firearms safely. The House Ways and Means Committee will hear HB 2166 at 9:00 a.m. on February 16and.

House Bill 2472 and House Bill 2473 discourage or prohibit financial institutions from discriminating against firearms businesses. Anti-gun banks and their leaders have expressed an interest in denying services to the gun industry in order to advance their political agenda and enforce gun control by making such activities impossible when legislatures do not bend to their will. Banks should assess gun businesses like any other business and consider financial risk, rather than ideology, in their service delivery decisions. The House Judiciary Committee will hear these bills at 8:00AM February 16and.

Again, please use the Request to speak (RTS) on the Arizona State Legislature website to ask committees to SUPPORT HB 2166, HB 2474, and HB 2473.
